Holland Audubon Club Adopts Resolution
Opposing Water Treatment Plant In Park

In a letter which appeared on the Holland Sentinel's November 3, 2002 Sunday Edition Letters to the Editor page, Robert A. Vanderkamp, Vice President of the Holland Audubon Club, expressed his disbelief upon learning the Holland Board of Public Works and Laketown Township are still considering locating a water treatment plant in the park.

Woodpecker on Snowy Evening in Saugatuck Dunes State Park "How much opposition do they need for them to give up on this poor preference?" Mr. Vanderkamp wrote. "In addition to all the other organizations that oppose this location, I wish to add another - the Holland Audubon Club. At our October meeting we passed an unanimous resolution opposing a water intake facility in Saugatuck Dunes State Park."

We join the Holland Audubon Club in their incredulity and thank them for adding their voice to the overwhelming number against these irresponsible proposals.
