The City of Holland Tunnel Park Pumping Station DO NOT ENTER

A sign in the grassy foredunes near Holland’s Tunnel Park pumping station: "FRAGILE ENVIRONMENTAL AREA. DO NOT ENTER. AREA CLOSED" This message is directed at pedestrians by the City of Holland. Among the DNR’s Parks and Recreation Bureau’s concerns about the pumping station proposed for Saugatuck Dunes State Park are high-risk erosion area, critical dunes (Read their April 11 letter), and "significant and permanent negative impacts to this dune system."
