A View West Across the Area Proposed for the Pumping Station

Vista shot of the area being considered for the pumping station, just north of the point where the main trail enters the beach. The construction site for the pumping station would be a square 200' by 200'. The hole would be at least 60 feet deep (5+ stories). Among the DNR’s Parks and Recreation Bureau’s concerns are high-risk erosion area, critical dunes (Read their April 11 letter), and "significant and permanent negative impacts to this dune system."
