Most Popular Trail to Beach, At Last Low Dune Before Lake
The entrance to most popular stretch of beach in the Park. In the general vicinity of one of the proposed sites for the pumping station. Laketown and Holland refer to this trail as an "existing road." The rope is 20 feet long. The construction site for the pumping station would be a square ten times wider than this rope is long. The hole would be at least 60 feet deep (5+ stories). Among the DNR’s Parks and Recreation Bureau’s concerns are high-risk erosion area, critical dunes (Read their April 11 letter), and "significant and permanent negative impacts to this dune system."

For an example of a pumping station similar to that proposed for this spot see the Grand Rapids pumping station. This is an image of pumping station construction at VanBuren State Park.
