| The Trail to the Beach, Most Popular in the Park |
|
|
The most popular trail in the Park. Laketown and Holland refer to this as an "existing
road." Note the closely spaced trees. The pipeline and/or access road would probably run
through here. The rope is 20 feet long. Laketown and Holland have asked for a linear
construction easement across the park that would be at least 40 feet wide. Among the
DNR’s Parks and Recreation Bureau’s (Read their
April 11 letter) concerns:
high-risk erosion area, critical dunes, "significant tree removal and permanent forest
canopy fragmentation." (Read the
Kalamazoo Audubon Society letter.)
